To grow our Mechanical team in Derby, we are looking for a Graduate Engineer to join us. Working on one of the UK’s most prestigious projects, you’ll collaborate with engineers across the UK. You’ll also receive support for your ongoing professional development (Chartership) with a tailored plan to achieve your career goals.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Producing engineering designs, assessments, and evaluations in accordance with project requirements
* Preparing calculations, undertaking local and global structural modelling, writing reports, and checking drawings
* Checking design calculations and drawings done by other engineers
* Performing a variety of engineering activities including data analysis, running simulations, developing calculation methods, and collaborating to deliver high-quality project work
* Contributing to the dissemination of engineering good practices and implementing in-house tools such as the carbon calculation tool
* Planning and prioritizing your workload with the support of your project manager, and reporting on progress against budgets and schedules
* Ensuring your work meets high technical standards through diligent self-checking
* Attending site visits or client meetings

Moreover, you will ideally:
* Be studying for a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BEng, BSc, Meng, MSc).
* Have aspirations to become a Chartered Engineer.
* Possess some experience in an engineering environment, such as a year in industry or summer placements.
* Demonstrate a deep understanding and passion for engineering, with a commitment to technical excellence.
* Be able to work effectively in a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
* Have good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
