We are looking for Support Workers
We are looking for caring and passionate individuals to join our dedicated team of Support Workers in our Supported Living services in Caerphilly borough, Ystrad Mynach. We have 2x 30 hour, part time, permanent positions available. The shift patterns can vary from 7am-3pm / 2.30pm-9pm / 10.30am-9pm / 9.30am-2.30pm / 2.30pm-11pm sleep-in then following shift 7am-2.30pm. Due to the needs of the individuals we support in this service, the post holder for this role is required to be female. A full UK manual driving licence is also required.

What is the role?
This service is the home of 4 loving and social individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with these individuals to support their day-to-day independence, enhance their various skills, and provide emotional support.
You will be expected to support with daily aspects of living, including:
* Medication administration
* Cooking skills and other household skills
* Accessing the community and supporting local groups
* Supporting individuals’ hobbies and activities such as walking/hiking
* Being a team player and having good communication skills
* Completing relevant paperwork to a high standard
* Supporting individuals to budget finances
* Providing companionship through talking about their interests and wellbeing
* Encouraging participation in activities that enhance life skills and promote independence
* Encouraging and supporting with cleaning and administrative duties
* Bringing fresh ideas to the team and implementing different ways of working
* Supporting individuals with their individual needs
What skills and experience do you need?
A background of working with people with physical or mental health needs is desired, but not necessary as full training and support from senior staff and management is provided. More important are:
* A passion to work with and enable people to live as independently as possible
* An enthusiasm for making a difference in people’s lives
* A strong initiative and ability to work alone as well as being a great team player
What are the pay and benefits?
* An hourly rate of £12.15 making the annual salary £23,376.60 (FTE)
