Semi Senior Accountant

Role Description
We are seeking an Accounts Semi-Senior to join our dynamic Owner-Managed Business team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the team to deliver practical and actionable advice to our clients, ensuring their businesses continue to move forward. You will assist in providing tailored accountancy solutions that cater to the specific needs of each business which vary from client to client.
As an Accounts Semi-Senior, you will have the opportunity to engage directly with clients, enabling you to nurture and strengthen valuable relationships. You will gain hands-on experience managing your own workload and have regular contact/recurring work with clients to help build these relations. This will involve responsibilities such as preparing VAT returns and providing ongoing client support. This exposure will be essential to your professional growth and will play a pivotal role in advancing your career within the firm.
You will receive guidance and mentorship from senior team members, along with a customised internal learning and development programme to support your growth. This is a varied role that requires a broad knowledge of services across the SME space, allowing you to provide clients with well-rounded advice that considers both business and personal impacts.

Key Responsibilities
* Preparation of year-end accounts, for Limited Companies, Sole Traders and Partnerships
* Preparation of Corporation Tax Computations
* Preparation and review of client VAT / MTD returns
* Completion of bookkeeping in support of other work
* Demonstrate commitment to timely completion of jobs
* Demonstrate commitment to the completion of jobs to a high standard of accuracy and efficiency
* Develop good organisational skills to ensure deadlines are met
* Ensure all client communications are dealt with in a timely manner
Skills:
* Be a confident and collaborative team player with experience of coaching and leading others
* Able to demonstrate outstanding customer service to clients and inspire others to do the same
* Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
* Good working knowledge of a variety of accounting software
* Actively seeks to enhance expertise and knowledge
* Attention to detail and ability to drive projects through, demonstrating high performance
Experience:
* Have previous experience in a similar role
* Client relationship management experience
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
* Good sense of commercial awareness
Qualifications:
* Working towards AAT, ACCA or ACA.
* Minimum 3 years’ experience working within a Practice Background
* Good results from GCSE’s/further study- to have shown genuine commitment to completion of studies to a high grade

* Core hours policy (7.5 hours per day, working between 08:00 and 18:00).
* The ability to take up to two hours for lunch.
