Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Fencing Operative to join our Environmental Services team in Blackburn. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in enhancing our community's outdoor spaces. In this hands-on position, you’ll implement fencing improvement programs, manage repairs, and support the installation of new fencing.

Requirements
Outline of Key Responsibilities for the Fencing Operative:
* Carry out all installations, repairs, and maintenance of fences on our properties.
* Prepare and clean the work area before and after completing tasks.
* Handle and operate tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
* Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations.
* Assist the Supervisor in organizing work, ordering materials, and ensuring projects are completed on time and maintain quality.
* Supervise and train trainees and apprentices, ensuring their safety and service standards are met.
* Follow good health and safety and equal opportunities practices and understand all risk assessments for tasks.
* Provide high-quality customer service to all volunteers, placements, trainees, apprentices, and customers.
* Support various departments as directed, including Mobile Cleaning, Estate Services Team, and Grounds Maintenance.
We are looking for someone who has:
* Experience in fencing installation, repairs, and maintenance.
* Full manual UK driving licence.
* Knowledge of different types of fencing materials and construction techniques.
* Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication and time management skills.
In return, we are offering the successful candidate in the Fencing Operative role:
* Starting salary: £23,997 per annum.
* Annual salary increment increases.
* 27 days annual leave (rising to 32 over 5 years’ service) + bank holidays.
