The Montefiore Hospital in Hove are seeking an experienced Chemotherapy Clinical Nurse to join our dynamic and proficient oncology the Chemotherapy Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will serve as the clinical expert and professional resource for the multi-professional team, patients, and caregivers.
Main duties of the job
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Management of direct patient care and to be responsible for a clinical caseload and safely administer SACT
2. To work closely with other site-specific Clinical Nurse Specialist and work as part of a team
3. Work collaboratively with other professionals and agencies both within and out of the hospital setting to ensure patient needs are met, especially in relation to ongoing care needs and discharge arrangements
4. To offer patients a Holistic Needs Assessment at relevant points in their pathway and provide a care plan, if identified referral to Level 3 or Level 4 psychological care providers
5. Provide specialist advice which is evidence based to deliver clinically effective care to cancer patients and their families in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
6. Promote a culture of respectful relationships and patient involvement in care decisions
7. Evaluate and assess patients and their familys needs and treat, support and refer as appropriate
8. Demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding in the administration of chemotherapy and associated toxicities, including intravenous access, management of central venous access, venepuncture and management of extravasation

Who we're looking for:
9. Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registrationwith no restrictions or conditions
10. Extensive knowledge and experience of working at a senior level within cancer services and the administration of SACT
11. Hold an accredited SACT administration course
12. Competency in the UKONS 24 Hour triage Tool
13. Post registration course within cancer care
14. Excellent communication, organisational & IT skills, with the ability to organise work around competing demands on time
15. Ability to work with minimal supervision
Working Hours: Full Time per week
Contract Type: Permanent, Full time
