This is an amazing opportunity for an experienced assistant accountant (or accounts assistant) to gain superb experience and exposure in a top manufacturing company! You will need to have a very thorough understanding of transactional finance and accounting, gained in industry, and you will also need to have experience of management accounting functions including variance and overhead analysis, stock, accruals, prepayments, journals, and Fixed Asset Management. This role will give you extensive exposure to manufacturing management, accounting, and business partnering for a global company. The role will be largely office-based, but once fully integrated into the team, there will be the opportunity for occasional home working (possibly one day a week). This role offers great training opportunities - working for a fantastic Head of Finance. We are open to qualified, QBE, and studying candidates, but please be aware that this is not a graduate position. You MUST have significant experience of working in a commercial finance team to perform in this demanding role.
The day-to-day responsibilities will consist of the following:
1. Supervising accounts payable and managing payment runs
2. Bank reconciliations
3. Cashflow management
4. Stock management and reconciliations (any exposure to stock work will be considered)
5. Assisting with escalated accounts receivable queries
6. Prepayments and accruals
7. Intercompany reconciliations
8. Taking an active role in the month-end schedule
9. Analysis of weekly overheads
10. Sales Reporting
You will also be a systems champion, with good exposure to large and complex ERP systems and an intermediate to advanced user of Excel spreadsheets and other functions for reporting and analysis. Salary is dependent on the level of experience and exposure to business areas such as manufacturing cost accounting, and stock will make you eligible for a salary at the upper end of the range.
