About the role: As a Teaching Assistant (TA), you will play an integral role in fostering a supportive and stimulating environment for children with diverse needs. Collaborating with teachers, specialists and families, your dedication will empower students to achieve their fullest potential, both academically and personally. Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant (TA): Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons. Provide tailored support to pupils, including those with additional learning needs. Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Support students with their social, emotional and academic development. Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe learning space. Work collaboratively with teaching staff and parents to support pupil progress. Contribute to extracurricular activities and school-wide initiatives. Requirements of the Teaching Assistant (TA): Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar educational support role. Knowledge of the curriculum and effective teaching support strategies. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff. Patience, empathy and an understanding of how to support children’s individual needs. A relevant qualification (e.g., Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate) is desirable but not essential. Commitment to professional development and the ability to adapt to new teaching techniques and practices. Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
