At the National Composites Centre (NCC), we’re seeking a Technology Programme Manager (TPM) to join our Defence Delivery Team. This role offers the unique opportunity to manage large-scale, impactful projects for major customers while developing future work in this dynamic and vital sector. As a TPM in Defence, you’ll play a pivotal role in project and contract management, business development, and customer relationship management. You’ll collaborate with technical leaders to deliver projects to time, cost, and quality while contributing to the growth of the NCC’s Defence portfolio. Key Responsibilities Project & Contract Management: Act as the main contact for customers and internal stakeholders for your portfolio of projects. Lead project execution, ensuring delivery aligns with budget, resource allocation, and timelines. Manage risks, issues, and changes, implementing necessary controls and mitigations. Report regularly on project progress, risks, and opportunities. Business Development: Develop and prepare detailed bids and estimates in collaboration with technical teams. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and new customers to identify and secure future opportunities. What Are We Looking For? Essential: Degree in an Engineering discipline and a project management qualification (e.g., APM, Prince 2, or equivalent). Experience in the Defence sector, ideally within the MoD, Defence OEM, or supplier networks. Proven track record in project management, including budget control, resource planning, and scheduling. Experience writing bid proposals and leading work-winning activities. Ability to manage long-term customer relationships effectively. Desirable: Security Clearance (SC) and willingness to achieve DV. Broad engineering experience beyond composites, including knowledge of systems integration. Familiarity with contract management in Defence projects.
