Offer Description
About us
Chemistry at King’s is a vibrant and inclusive research department located in the heart of London. Our focus is on exploring the chemistry of life, laying the groundwork for breakthroughs in chemical biology, biomaterials, synthetic biology, and nanomedicine.
About the role
The Nott group is looking for a skilled and motivated postdoctoral researcher. This project will combine structural and cellular approaches to study the conformations, interactions, and catalytic activity of membraneless organelle proteins.
Applicants should hold (or be close to completing) a PhD in a relevant area of biological, chemical, or physical science and be able to lead an interdisciplinary project. Expertise in biomolecular NMR is highly desirable. Applicants should have a strong interest in disordered proteins, excellent communication skills, and the ability to write for scientific publication.
This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), offered on a fixed-term contract for up to three years.

* Excellent experimental skills and the ability to independently drive a project, including decision-making, planning, organising, and collaborating.
* Ability to communicate complex information both in written and oral forms.
* Enthusiasm for the research being carried out in the lab.
* Expertise in protein expression, isolation, and characterisation.
* Expertise in biomolecular NMR, fluorescence microscopy, or other relevant structural/cell biology methods.
* Experience of writing scientific papers.
* Ability to address complex problems creatively.
