We are seeking a proactive and experienced Head of Project Management to lead a vital portfolio of change projects at Kingston University. In this impactful role, you will drive the success of the University’s Town House Strategy and strategic objectives by coordinating complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring each meets its scope, time, quality, and budget goals.
As a leader within the Strategic Portfolio Office (SPO), you will develop a cohesive project management methodology, building on best practices across the University. You’ll also maintain a central project repository to drive continuous improvement. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you’ll build trust, foster collaboration, and ensure transparency, all while promoting an inclusive, engaged environment.
This role provides a unique opportunity to shape the future of Kingston University by managing high-impact initiatives and supporting a team of skilled Project Managers to deliver meaningful, measurable results.
The Person
To succeed in this role, you should have:
1. A degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
2. Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) and familiarity with methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
3. Extensive experience managing complex projects at an enterprise level, with a focus on strategic outcomes and effective stakeholder management.
4. Strong organizational skills, including the ability to handle complex project demands and create efficient project management processes.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative, inclusive approach that builds trust and drives engagement.
6. A strategic and adaptable mindset, able to align project goals with University objectives and adapt to shifting project needs with resilience and agility.
Directorate/Function
Working within a newly created Strategic Portfolio Office (SPO), the office also sits within a newly established Strategy, Performance and Communications Directorate. As well as the SPO, this Directorate includes staff working in Planning and Performance, and Brand, Communications and Public Affairs.

This is a full-time role, permanent position with a starting salary of £59,654.00 per annum.
