The Role:
Preparation of Accounts & Tax Computations
1. Preparation of accounts and tax computations assignments
2. Develop your accounts skills as part of your training and development program Sole Trader Accounts and tax computationsPartnership and tax computationsLLP Accounts and tax computationsAudit Exempt Companies, Statutory Accounts Checklists and Corporation TaxSpecialist Areas – Charities, Academies, Solicitors & Financial services
3. Complete planning, fieldwork and completion on assignments
4. Proactive contact with client on accounts queries
5. Complete assignments within set budgets, highlighting potential issues with the Managers
6. Responding to Managers and Partners review feedback
Auditing
7. Assisting with audit assignments under the direction of the Managers and Partners
8. Develop your audit skills as part of your training and development program Audit FieldworkAudit PlanningAttending client Stock takesAudit Section completionStatutory Account ChecklistsAudit CompletionAssisting junior staff develop their audit skills and knowledge
Management of Accounts, Tax, Audit & Specialist Assignments
9. All client queries are appropriately answered or directed to Managers as appropriate.
10. Planning updates to Managers as required
11. Provide junior team members with appropriate information regarding delegated areas of client assignments.
12. Approve planning and budgeting of client assignments with Managers and Partners
13. Assist in fieldwork where appropriate (including offsite assignments)
14. Review of assignments undertaken by junior team members including; Statutory AccountsSole Trader AccountsPartnership AccountsCorporation Tax Returns
15. Issue key documentation to the client
16. Liaise with the relevant Manager and Partner as required
Training
17. Assisting junior team members with fieldwork queries
18. Providing feedback to junior team members post file reviews
19. Identify training opportunities for junior team members
20. Supporting students through their professional training
Administrative
21. Attend and contribute to bi-monthly Audit & Accounts Meetings
22. Liaise with the Audit & Accounts Managers in respect of work planning
23. Liaising with the Audit & Accounts Senior manager in respect of departmental issues
24. Performance of other tasks as requested by the Managers and Partner
Self- Development
25. Take responsibility for your personal self-development
26. Attend appropriate and relevant CPD courses
27. Read appropriate and relevant professional literature
Requirements:
28. ACA Qualified with recent experience in practice
29. Eligibility to live and work in the UK
30. Experience of completing audit and accounts work for a variety of business entities
31. Possess a high level of technical knowledge combined with excellent commercial awareness
32. Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to the audience
33. Proficient in the use of using a computerised audit systems
34. Competent in Microsoft office, including Excel and Word
35. Ability to identify commercial and professional risks and ensure these are managed effectively
36. Ability to prioritise workload in order to achieve work deadlines
37. Project a professional manner and appearance at all times
38. Track record of successfully managing, motivating and leading junior staff on assignments
39. Ability to delegate effectively
40. Driver with access to a car
