We are seeking a committed and well knowledgeable Tissue Viability Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team for maternity leave cover. As a Band 7 Tissue Viability CNS, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, teaching, management, and care to patients with pressure ulcers and other complex wounds.
This position requires a passionate advocate for patient-centred care. You will be a key clinical leader, supporting the development and implementation of best practices, enhancing quality of care, and empowering both patients and healthcare professionals with knowledge and expertise in Tissue Viability.

Act as a specialist in tissue viability, and a core member of the Tissue Viability Team.
In conjunction with the TVN lead to provide professional and clinical leadership in aspects of tissue viability issues across all hospital sites, to all disciplines of staff
Management of patient referrals to the Tissue Viability Service.
Review current treatments, resources use and monitor the outcomes and cost effectiveness of care provision.
Provide training and education programmes about tissue viability to all levels of staff and disciplines. Focusing on ward-based training.
To lead and work collaboratively with other team members to identify and deliver Tissue Viability Trust wide projects.
Contribute to the strategy for the effective use of pressure relieving equipment across the Trust.
To deputise for the Harm Free Care Matron in their absence as required.

Clinical Leadership: Expected to maintain a visible presence in the clinical areas and provide strong leadership and role modelling in promoting evidence based clinically effective tissue viability care.
Contribute to the implementation of a strategy for acute and chronic wound management, creating objectives and targets in line with the overall aim of the post.
Participate and provide clinical leadership in the undertaking of root cause analysis investigations of clinical incidents relating to tissue viability
Education and Training: To support the TVN Clinical Nurse Specialists with training and education programmes about tissue viability to all levels of staff and disciplines. Focusing on ward-based training.
Co-ordinate/ lead/ organise relevant study days, courses, and conferences as appropriate on Tissue Viability management etc.
Research and Development: Identify educational needs with staff and clients. Support the TVN CNS to deliver training programmes based upon agreed protocols and standards of care.
To critically evaluate research findings and apply these findings to clinical practice when appropriate
To identify areas of nursing practice within the specialty needing to be researched, demonstrating an awareness of the implications of any research study underway, or to be established.
Patient Advocacy: Support the TVN Clinical Nurse Specialists to guide medical and multi-disciplinary staff, patients and carers in matters relating to meeting the standards and protocols for tissue viability and wound management across the Trust.
To actively contribute to the operational and strategic development of the Tissue Viability Service and Harm Free Care Team.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and interventions, adhering to Trust and professional standards.
Policy Implementation: Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of tissue viability policies and procedures to standardise best practices across the organisation.
