Junior Software Engineer (Full Stack) - Up to £49,000 Hybrid/Remote A fantastic opportunity to become part of a skilled team, taking charge of key aspects of a major public sector IT deployment involving tailored software solutions. This role includes remote work and on-site client support as needed, contributing to the development, integration, implementation, and maintenance of intricate systems. The ideal candidate will collaborate with a diverse group, including customer stakeholders, solution architects, academic experts, and top software development firms. You will be A graduate with a strong foundation in mathematics, likely holding a degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a related field. Proficient in various programming paradigms and languages, ideally spanning both front-end and back-end technologies. Creative, proactive, and eager to continuously learn and apply emerging technologies and methodologies. Capable of managing deployed software solutions both internally and for client-facing implementations. Able to contribute to architectural processes to design, implement, and maintain client-focused software solutions, including air-gapped and secure private cloud environments. Enthusiastic about collaborating across functions, providing support, and tackling challenges while working with diverse teams and customers. Skilled in building professional networks, sharing expertise, learning quickly, embracing mistakes as part of growth, and delivering results. A Thought Leader - someone who inspires others and, in return, will be given the freedom to bring innovative ideas to life. Essential Experienced in at least one front-end technology stack (ideally React). Experienced in at least one back-end technology stack (ideally Spring). Experienced in JavaScript/TypeScript. Experienced in Java and Python. Strong, demonstrable, rapid written and verbal communication skills including Software Solution Design. Strong configuration control approach and pro-active approach to software and API documentation. Good practical knowledge of relational database technologies. The willingness and ability to gain UK Security Clearance (SC) as a minimum, holding UK nationality. Desirable Experience in Scaled Agile environments. Software virtualisation skills e.g., Docker. Experience of DevOps environments in Defence & Security or other Public Sector. Modelling and architectural skills and range of toolset experience. Hold UK Developed Vetting Clearance (DV).
