Overview: Our residents are at the heart of everything we do. With person-centred planning, we ensure that everyone remains focused on achieving their goals and maintaining their independence as much as possible.
This role is for 30 to 40 hours per week, with shifts to include every other weekend.
Job Purpose: To assist in the personal, rehabilitative, and social care of residents.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Provide direct care provision for all aspects of the individual resident’s assessed needs in line with their care plan.
2. Follow all Policies and Procedures.
3. Assist individual residents with personal care as needed.
4. Administer and store prescribed medication in line with legislation.
5. Assist individual residents with their mobility, where appropriate.
6. Help individual residents to feed themselves, where needed.
7. Oversee and assist in the serving and preparation of meals and drinks.
8. Ensure that each resident receives a well-balanced diet.
9. Communicate and convey relevant information about the residents to team members to regularly update the individual plan of care and provide appropriate care, paying attention to any changes observed in the resident’s physical, medical, or psychological condition.
10. Report immediately to the senior staff in charge any accident or untoward incident that may occur to a resident, member of staff, or visitor.
11. Be aware of the steps to take in line with Safeguarding Adults at Risk Policies should an allegation of abuse be witnessed or made.
12. Follow procedures for handling medication, including asking a senior member of staff to administer prescribed drugs as required.
13. Attend 1:1 supervision meetings with your line manager every six weeks.
14. Follow any reasonable instructions given by your line manager or senior manager as required.
15. Perform any other reasonable tasks that may be required.
16. Be conversant with and implement Company policies and procedures.

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualifications for this role: Ability to communicate with the general public, trustees, professional bodies, and all other parties on behalf of The Meath, both written and verbal. Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, and other operating systems.
Essential: Take responsibility, work well independently as well as part of a team, flexible, reliable, and punctual. Willingness to attend and participate in relevant training to ensure that high operational and safety standards are maintained at all times. High degree of confidentiality regarding all aspects of the role.
Desirable: Awareness of CQC requirements and holding a relevant Health and Social Care Qualification or willingness to work towards a qualification.
