Role: Employment Support Worker - Charity Shop Salary: £11.50 per hour Hours : 7-12 hours per week (7 hours on a Wednesday, 5 hours on a Saturday) This is a fantastic opportunity to support our adults with learning disabilities and Austim with their job role in our charity shop. You will be working alongside the people we support enabling them to learn and get involved with everything shop related. About Style Acre Style Acre is an Oxfordshire-based, award-winning and forward-looking charity supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and physical needs. We have over 35 supported living households, 3 community day hubs and a successful work programme, supporting more than 250 people. We are rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The Style Acre Charity shop provides working opportunities for adults with learning disabilities and autism. We are looking for a caring, organised and can do person to join our team at the shop. This is an interesting and rewarding blended role, where you would be providing direct 1:1 support on Wednesdays and/or Saturdays. About the Employment Support Worker Role To provide the support and skills development necessary to ensure those individuals with learning disabilities on work placement opportunities, succeed in achieving their aim of working more independently and gaining confidence in the workplace. To provide direct support for people on work placement at our Shop in Wallingford, helping people to learn skills, developing independence and confidence in the workplace. To work as a part of the Shop team to provide excellent customer service and to contribute to the smooth running of the business - including serving customers, clearing tables, making drinks and preparing food. To have, or to develop an understanding of the methods and communication strategies appropriate to people with learning disabilities. To monitor and record development and progress of the individual employee or work placement being supported including setting targets and completing regular reviews with the people we support. To provide transport and travel training to placements where required, encouraging independent travel whenever possible. To work in a professional manner in line with the work practices of Style Acre and to ensure the appropriate standard of work practice is adopted by the employee or work placement being supported. To take ownership of your own personal development, to be supervised by your line manager on a monthly basis and to commit to attending training and development opportunities identified for your role. To carry out all other duties associated within the role of Employment Supporter, as directed by the Shop Manager and Head of Work Programme including providing holiday cover for other social enterprise staff.
