Who You Are You are a qualified Social Worker with a DPSW, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent qualification, aiming to support foster care services in Carmarthenshire. Your dedication to child welfare is evident through your good working knowledge and experience in handling complex childcare cases, child protection work, and safeguarding children and young people. You possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) in English, with desirable Welsh language skills. You are self-motivated, able to prioritize tasks effectively, and possess excellent time management skills. What the job involves Your role involves supporting and supervising approved foster carers, conducting regular and annual reviews, and participating in recruitment and training activities for new carers. You ensure compliance with National legislation and Fostering Services’ policies, contribute to business planning, and maintain effective communication with children's social workers and the foster carer mentoring service. You will work collaboratively within the Childcare Services Corporate Parenting Team and other agencies, and attend reviews and meetings related to placements. This position requires a flexible attitude towards duties with travel requirements, hybrid working, and attending the Llanelli Assessment team office part-time.
