You will be required to provide expert clinical knowledge and opinion to ensure service users are receiving outcome focused safe and effective treatment of high quality and value for money. Main duties of the job The post holder will act as the lead specialist for a programme of reviews for all individual packages of care and placements for mental health, learning disability and neurodivergent adult service users who are unable to receive their care within CIOS. The post holder will be required to provide expert clinical knowledge and opinion to ensure service users are receiving outcome focused safe and effective treatment of high quality and value for money. In addition to the quality and safety of services delivered, the role also prevents or shortens high cost admissions to out of area hospitals and promotes positive outcomes in line with established strategic intentions. You will work with the service user and care coordinator to review the person's needs and risks against the service being provided to ensure it provides safe, high quality person-centred outcomes, addresses identified needs and assessed risks, adheres to NICE clinical and quality guidance, and provides value for money. As an experienced clinician you will provide subject matter expertise and advice to non-clinical colleagues as to the clinical appropriateness of the proposed package being requested and support clinical scrutiny and sign off. The senior reviewer element of the role offers the opportunity for the post holder to expand their clinical knowledge and subject matter expertise to support the CIOS system priority to reduce health inequalities for people with a learning disability or autistic people.
