We have an opportunity for a Commercial Director to join our Energy business in Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the commercial function on all major projects for the Energy business in Scotland for Morgan Sindall Infrastructure.
Responsibility:
* Working with the relevant Project lead/s to deliver against targets.
* Contribute as a member of the senior management team on a Project/s. Provide visible leadership to deliver results e.g. Health and Safety, financial, perfect delivery etc.
* Provide commercial governance and challenge for all aspects of the project lifecycle which may include work winning activities; managing the tender process and associated pricing assumptions and settlement to final project close out and ensuring complete financial closure. Ensuring at all appropriate stages adherence to the relevant DELAPS. Where risks are identified and not rectified ensure timely escalation to BU Commercial Director.
* Responsible for the accurate reporting for the Project, ensuring robust forecasts in place. Provide financial rigour to ensure team adhere to financial requirements.
* Ensure effective risk and opportunity management is in place. Reviewing all opportunities and ensuring delivery of margin enhancement opportunities.
* Responsible for ensuring the project/s has/have appropriate procurement strategies in place and appropriate procurement channels are followed. Where any deviation is required review and ensure necessary governance in place. Manage any sub-contract disputes through to successful resolution.
* Manage client relationship in key commercial areas from providing contractual and commercial advice to dealing with dispute resolution and ensuring cash collection.
* Manage the full employee lifecycle for all direct reports including talent and succession management to ensure optimum team performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Preference given to BSc in Quantity Surveying, MRICS or equivalent professional accreditation.
* Experienced across main forms of Contract with a background in contracting organisations.
* Must be willing to travel to meet the requirements of the role.
* Energy experience ideal but not essential.

About our Energy business
We have extensive experience in upgrading and replacing energy networks, delivering asset management for major UK energy companies and network operators. Our transmission and distribution services involve the upgrading and replacement of electricity assets both above and below ground. Within the electricity sector we install and maintain assets, including excavation, laying and jointing of cables, (fluid filled and XLPe), substations and overhead line, new build, repair and refurbishment services.
