Assistant General Manager - Elective Orthopaedic Centre

The Dame Clare Marx Building houses our brand new Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre (ESEOC) and focuses on providing ring-fenced surgery and post-operative rehabilitation for orthopaedics across the SNEE.
You will be responsible for optimised theatre list utilisation in the centre and possess a strong track record of operational delivery, strong financial management knowledge and skills, coupled with effective leadership skills. You will also have the ability to develop strong, productive and collaborative relationships both internally and with key stakeholders.

Main duties of the job
1. Responsibility for managing all aspects of operational delivery within the relevant clinical specialties of East Suffolk & North East Essex Foundation Trust to agreed quality standards and within the resource and income base available, to support the Trust's development as a clinically led organisation.
2. Lead on the development, implementation, establishment and review of performance management systems within the relevant clinical specialties, collaboratively with other clinical specialties within the Division and across the other Divisions.
3. Champion a strong focus of business acumen, finance and performance for services at the Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre.
4. Work closely with other acute providers to ensure the smooth transfer of patients for treatment in the Essex and Suffolk Elective Orthopaedic Centre.

Person Specification
Experience
* Proven experience of working in a management/leadership role.
* Experience of managing, leading and motivating a team.
* Leading service changes to improve performance.
Knowledge
* Financial procedures including budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes.
* Business planning /annual planning/long term planning.
* In depth understanding of change management.
* Theatre utilisation and best practice principles.
* Orthopaedic pathways.
Personal Skills
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
* Ability to work independently and make autonomous decisions.
* Good analytical and problem solving skills.
