About the Role

We are recruiting for a Technical Support Engineer to support our rental fleet on a permanent staff basis joining our growing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have worked in a practical role operating, maintaining and servicing equipment including: Electric/Diesel/Pneumatic Hydraulic Power Units, Umbilical Reelers, Spooling Units, High Pressure Pump Units, Mechanical handling equipment.
In this position, the candidate will play a key function in both the mobilisation of equipment for projects and the service and maintenance of the equipment. The candidate will have a close working relationship with the Engineering and Rental teams and will be directly reporting to the Technical Director.
This position is ideal for those who have practical hands-on experience but are looking to transition into an office position.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Working within the rentals department supporting the service, maintenance, modification, mobilisation and de-mobilisation of offshore equipment.
* Project managing the build of standard newbuild rental assets.
* Project managing the service of equipment, ranging from light annual maintenance work to complete 5 yearly overhauls.
* Liaising directly with clients to assist with technical support during the run up to mobilisation, and continuing to support them during the project phase.
* Trouble shooting faults with equipment, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues.
* Using Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD to carry out modifications to existing designs.
* Ensuring the key documentation is correct and up to date for the rental equipment, including Operations and Maintenance Manuals.
* Carrying out Factory Acceptance Tests on newbuild hire equipment.
* Carrying out demonstrations of equipment to clients.
* Carrying out basic calculations such as: Umbilical weights, drum sizing, HPU Power.
Essential
* You must be a driven team player who is mechanically minded with an excellent attention to detail and a genuine passion for engineering.
* A minimum of 5 years’ experience post apprenticeship working on the equipment mentioned below.
* Highly competent in mechanical and hydraulic systems.
* Able to read and understand hydraulic schematics.
* Competent in:
* Microsoft Office (Outlook / Word / Excel)
* AutoCAD
* Experience of working on products including: Electric/Diesel/Pneumatic Hydraulic Power Units, Umbilical Reelers, Spooling Units, High Pressure Pump Units, Mechanical handling equipment.
Preferred
* HNC / HND qualification.
* Competent with Autodesk Inventor.
* Competent with Microsoft Project.
* Understanding of electrical systems.
