Key responsibilities With a robust pipeline of projects in the South East of England, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Site Manager to manage building projects ranging in value from £500k to £9m. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, profitably, on schedule, and to an exceptional standard of quality. You must demonstrate expertise in managing labour, specialist subcontractors, operational costs, and team leadership, with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction. Excellent interpersonal and soft skills will be essential for client and consultant interactions, ensuring smooth project execution and fostering positive relationships. Key Duties: Reporting to the Construction Manager, manage project delivery safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. Establish and maintain quality standards on-site, ensuring delivery in line with project specifications and requirements. Champion the principles of the Considerate Constructor’s Scheme, managing community relations and maintaining a professional site image to promote repeat business. Monitor and control project costs, working to the agreed preliminary budget, and minimise waste and non-recoverable expenses. Develop and manage project programmes to ensure timely delivery, organising works and supply chains to prevent trade disruptions. Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors, adopting a considerate and professional approach. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental management standards. Oversee project handovers, ensuring snag-free completion and timely resolution of any defects during the defects liability period. Support strategies to achieve successful project closure and obtain a certificate of Making Good Defects within set targets. Qualifications & Skills Required Essential Certifications: o SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)o CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) Cardo First Aid at Worko Construction-related NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) Essential Skills and Experience: o Proven track record of successfully delivering construction projects within a team environment.o Ability to read and interpret programmes, drawings, and technical specifications accurately.o Experience in managing build programmes, supply chains, direct employees, and consultants.o Strong communication and liaison skills with customers, clients, and subcontractors.o Demonstrated ability to manage quality, safety, and budget control effectively Training We believe in investing in our team.
