Procurement Officer
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Officer to join a leading establishment based in Belfast.
This is a Full-Time, Temporary Position, initially for 4-8+ weeks.
Working Hours: Mon-Thurs 8.30am-5.15pm & Fri 8.30am-1.15pm
With a salary of £32,000 per annum
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for providing a purchasing function to all departments within the business.
Essential Criteria:
* At least 2 years’ relevant experience of procurement
* Experience of working within an MRP/ERP platform
* General Education to include GCSE Maths and English grade C and above or equivalent
* Experience of using software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel Outlook and Databases
* Understanding of all aspects of the contracting process and experience of managing contracts
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal – with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels
* Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload while adhering to tight deadlines
* Good negotiation skills
* Ability to accurately record information
* Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
Desirable Criteria:
* CIPS qualification or equivalent or actively working towards qualification
* Knowledge of electronic tendering and contract management systems
* Manage finance/budgets
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Ensure all purchase requests are in compliance with purchasing policy and procedures and within budget
* To review, categorise, prioritise and action all Purchase Requisitions received from user departments
* Management of purchase orders from order placement to delivery
* To source and price goods and services as required
* To liaise with internal departments concerning prices obtained
* Dealing with enquiries from prospective suppliers
* Assistance in tendering processes
* Ownership of procurement document management systems; ensuring there is regular review and updates whilst highlighting any area of concern or action points
* Maintain register of contracts
* Contract management and review
* Assist in performing governance role to ensure compliance with company policy and aide reporting of breaches under the policy
* Provision of advice and guidance on purchasing matters
* Assist in provision of training in area of purchasing and procurement where necessary
* Assist in development and maintenance of the purchasing and tender plan
* Ensure the efficient running of Stores
* Co-ordinate an annual stock take, ensuring all stock items are counted, and report the results of these stock takes to the Finance Manager, with any proposed adjustments necessary
* Maintain fuel stocks using the Fuel System and order when required
