We provide a combination of face to face and virtual consultations to patients through our consultant and nurse led clinics, working closely with our colleagues in technical cardiology and admin as well as a range of allied health professionals.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for assisting in running and coordinating a variety of consultant and nurse led clinics. Our people centred focus is on patient safety, wellbeing and customer care to enable the department to deliver excellence. You will work alongside our small team of health care assistants to facilitate the safe flow of patients through our clinics, providing assistance to both patients and clinicians.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and will be able to communicate effectively using our PRIDE values, working to the highest professional standards and demonstrating integrity and dedication to the role.
Team work and a "can do" approach are essential to the role, along with a willingness to work flexibly to deliver care in the right place at the right time. It is essential that all our colleagues understand and demonstrate a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in the care we provide, through respectful interactions with our colleagues and patients.
Currently clinics run Monday to Friday 8-5 but it is possible that these hours will be extended to weekends and/or evenings in due course. The post holder will be required to work flexibly during all of these hours.
Occasionally the post holder may be asked to cover some ward work during their normal working hours when clinics are closed, although this is not part of the usual daily routine.
