Finance Administrator

We have a vacancy for a Finance Administrator to join our team based in Oxford for a Fixed Term Maternity Cover (as our team continues to grow there is a chance of this moving to a permanent position). We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our small but rapidly growing company with operations in the UK, US, and Australia. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day finance operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
Maintain Financial Control Environment
* Adhere to financial controls / policies
* Maintaining accurate UK supplier records, including onboarding details and ensuring compliance with financial controls
* Month-end preparation: accruals, prepayments, control accounts reconciliation, and VAT close (ensuring all postings in place, notifying accountants, and sample testing)
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Internal Reporting
* Presentation of month-end to FC
* Statutory Accounting & Financial Reporting Requirements
* Month-end and VAT close tasks (overlap with financial control environment but focus here is statutory compliance)
Accounts Payable & Receivable
* UK daily bookkeeping: invoice posting (including employee expenses)
* UK invoice preparation
* Payment process: AP/AR schedules and settlements
* Enforcing DOA (for UK payments)
Treasury, Tax, and Procurement
* UK bank reconciliations
* VAT close: ensuring all postings in place, notifying accountants, and sample testing
* Maintaining accurate UK supplier records, including onboarding details
‘Must have’ skills and experience:
* Strong experience as a Bookkeeper
* AAT qualified
* Proven experience with different accounting software
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
* Strong Analytical and Problem-solving skills
* Effective communication and organisational skills
‘Nice to have’ skills and experience:
* ACCA qualifications
* Experience working in a scale-up, private equity environment
* Group accounting experience, including cross-currency
