The Aftersales Engineer role involves managing the day-to-day Aftersales functions of LB Foster Automation and Materials Handling, ensuring that there is a consistent flow of quotations transitioned timely through the aftersales process. The role also encompasses the development of new opportunities and revenue through a proactive approach and also by adding value to the business, driving excellence for product delivery such that customers place repeat orders and support the maintaining of long-term relationships with key accounts. Indicative Responsibilities Include: Produce clear and accurate quotations via the companies Visual Software Liaise with the order entry team to ensure all orders are handled and processed promptly. Focus on achieving high gross profit margins and to deliver service excellence. To work effectively with the wider LB Foster Sales and Marketing team to support the sales strategy and to deliver growth within aftersales. To liaise with the design, procurement and production teams to ensure customer satisfaction and on time delivery is achieved. Be proactive in identifying new revenue streams for aftersales. Maintain regular contact with customers to ensure excellent customer service. To generate & maintain reports weekly and annually to provide statistical data on enquiry and order number quantities, margin and other pertinent data that will help identify trends, which will assist with future business generation. To identify how best to work with individual customers such, that LB Foster, develop a process that ensures they provide an effective level of service. To explore new and adjacent market opportunities to deliver a strategically targeted and sustainable business area growth of 10% on aftersales turn-over year upon year. To implement and control strategy for generation of new aftersales leads using direct telephone calls, mailshots, Eshots, in conjunction with the Sales & Marketing Department Experience, Education & License Requirements: Previous experience in a similar role within an engineering environment Full Driving licence (UK) Degree Standard or equivalent MRP/ERP Experience/Knowledge Skills & Abilities: Competent in the use of MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Be methodical in processes with effective use of own initiative.
