About the role
A Digital Print Operator is responsible for setting up and operating our extensive range of Canon Digital printers. This includes tasks such as loading paper, adjusting the print settings, and monitoring the progress of the print job.
Operators must be able to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the printing process, making them a valuable part of the printing process.
Responsibilities
To ensure the timely production of digital print work through the Aylesbury facility, utilising all available digital print equipment. To run the on-site digital presses in accordance with CDS Quality System Operating procedures (to include monochrome and colour). To undertake other reasonable duties within CDS as directed by your line manager.
* Self-motivated and can manage your workload effectively.
* Manage your own time effectively so all delivery requirements are met.
* Ensure excellent attention to detail and all work is thoroughly checked.
* Produce accurate and timely printed materials which meet customer requirements and quality standards.
* Ensure all printed jobs are done in time for finishing and dispatched to the client's delivery dates.
* Carry out routine machine maintenance to agreed schedules and resolve straightforward machine breakdowns in a timely way to maximise efficiency and minimise machine downtime.
* Identify and utilise ideas which improve operational efficiency and reduce costs.
* Ensure all work is completed in line with HS&E, company policies, and procedures.
* Communicate effectively with people at all levels in an articulate and confident manner.
* A high standard of customer service for all external clients and service providers.
* A high level of engagement and collaboration with all internal CDS departments.
Requirements
The position requires an individual who is production and quality focused and capable of working in a high-volume and demanding environment. We are looking for a self-starter, able to be cross-trained on multiple pieces of print and finishing equipment, a team player, organised, with exceptional work habits and flexibility in work schedule. Working under the direct supervision of a senior team member, you will be required to be compliant with all Department policies and safety regulations.

A knowledge of digital colour/mono and the ability to make adjustments where necessary, and basic knowledge on finishing equipment (wire binding, booklet maker, and folding machine).
Full training will be offered both internally and externally.
Heavy Lifting
Ability to lift or move heavy (up to 20kg) products.
Vetting
Due to the nature of this role and the business, you will need to either currently hold UK Government clearance to a minimum of SC level or be able to undergo and maintain this level of clearance.
