You will play a key role in supporting the development and management of permanent sites and transit provisions, making a genuine difference in the lives of some of the most marginalized and misunderstood communities in West Sussex.
Any given day can often feel quite different from the next! There will be some key responsibilities likely to feature in this role, including:
1. Ensuring that sites are managed to a high standard in compliance with relevant legislation and best practices, while being attuned to the needs and aspirations of the community.
2. Leading a team of site managers and support staff, collaborating with internal and external partners, and ensuring high quality services that cater to the unique needs of the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller community
3. Data management and reporting: Supervise the collection, analysis, and reporting of site management data, utilising this information to inform decision-making and enhance service delivery.
4. Establishing and nurturing positive relationships with residents, elected officials, and other stakeholders. You will collaborate with partner organizations and agencies to enhance services and advocate for the interests of the community.

We would love to hear from you if you have:
5. A qualification in a relevant field (e.g. housing, social work, community development) or equivalent relevant experience.
6. Significant experience in managing sites for the Gypsy, Roma or Traveller communities, or similar marginalised communities.
7. Practical problem-solving and decision-making skills.
8. Skills in negotiating with stakeholders to effectively address site-related issues, resource allocation, and community concerns.
9. Strong communication skills, with the capacity to advocate for community interests and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
10. A strong commitment to equality and diversity, with a focus on effectively promoting the diversity of the Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller community.
11. The capability to address and challenge discrimination and prejudice in all settings.
