Job summary The Clinical Sister in the Elderly Ward is a senior nursing role responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality care to elderly patients. This position involves leading a team of nursing staff and healthcare staff, ensuring the implementation of best practices in geriatric care, compassionate care, enhancing patients' overall experience in the hospital setting. Main duties of the job Accountable for own actions in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice. Supervise and support nursing staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations. Foster a positive team environment focused on patient-centred care. Responsible for identifying and assessing complex clinical and non-clinical issues, implementing resolutions and monitoring/auditing outcomes. Work alongside the ward manager and in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to achieve customer satisfaction. Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, ensuring they understand care plans and treatment options.
