Position: Swimming Teacher Level 1 & Level 2
Location: Bromley, Beckenham, Biggin Hill and Orpington
For self-employed only:
Level 1 - £13.40 per hour
Level 2 - £20 per hour

Responsibilities:
1. Ensure an enjoyable and efficient delivery of the ‘Learn to Swim’ Programme (L2S), teaching to a wide range of ages and abilities and encourage them to maintain participation and progression through effective planning, organisation and coaching.
2. Have a clear understanding of the L2S programme, expected standards required and deliver sessions based on consistency and quality.
3. Ensure that participants achieve all the outcomes at each individual stage, regularly assess each participant's ability and development and trigger movements of all participants who are ready to progress.
4. Sign-out iPod before commencing swimming session and sign-in iPod at the end of the swimming session.
5. Update, manage and complete the registers, highlighting any issues or concerns to reception (e.g., direct debit payments, participant attended but not on register).
6. Take reasonable care of any equipment issued by Mytime Active (MTA), ensure it is used correctly, operated within health and safety guidelines, and report any faults or maintenance issues to reception.
7. Direct all customer/parent/guardian queries or complaints to reception.
8. Proactively contribute to future L2S developments or improvements, providing feedback to the swimming coordinator via reception if necessary.
9. Promote good conduct and safe use by all participants whilst they are on the pool surround and in the water, including rules indicated within the pool normal operating procedures.
10. Take reasonable care of personal, other employees, and participants' health and safety and cooperate with management to enable compliance with MTA’s health and safety rules and legislative requirements.
11. Be aware of and abide by all MTA policies and procedures.
12. Demonstrate and promote commitment to MTA’s values and objectives.
13. Follow and promote MTA’s Safeguarding policies and procedures and report any child protection matters to the designated safeguarding lead.
14. Attend MTA workforce development sessions, on occasion outside of normal working hours to ensure health and safety, safeguarding, and continuous personal development.
15. Participate in any workforce development requirements, team meetings, performance reviews, or other meetings, on occasions outside of normal working hours, consistent with current and future business needs and relevant legislative standards.
16. Carry out any other duties, including administrative duties, as directed by the Swimming Coordinator.
Qualifications:
As a Swimming Instructor, you will need to demonstrate significant work experience within the swimming pool environment and hold an ASA or Swim England Level 2 Swimming Teacher qualification.
You will ideally hold a NRASTC or NPLQ qualification or be willing to undertake the qualification. Other qualifications such as Adult and Baby, Stage 8-10 or other aquatic disciplines would be very desirable.
Please note that the swimming term is 50 weeks a year.
