Job summary The post holder will join a team of Consultants, SpRs and junior medical trainees, Specialist Nurses and other Health Professionals in one or more cancer site and contribute to outpatient clinical care and inpatient ward care. This post is not recognised for training and is for service purposes only. However the post holder would be allocated a named clinical supervisor and would be able to attend educational opportunities that are provided for existing trainees. A study leave budget is also available. This post would be suitable for those candidates who are keen to become a clinical or medical oncologist and want to acquire further experience pending applying for a future training posts. This post is Fixed Term/Secondment for 12 months to meet the needs of the service. Main duties of the job These doctors are employed as Non-Training doctors at junior doctor level to support the inpatient services alongside training posts. The post holders have the opportunity to work alongside a site specific team in delivering outpatient clinics and will be allocated a clinical supervisor. The balance of post may vary between the OP and IP departments according to service needs and the skills and qualifications of the post-holder. RT planning clinics may be included where desired for experience. These posts are included in the Trust's Appraisal and revalidation process, for which previous ARCP is accepted. Proposed weekly timetable (i.e. regular scheduled NHS activities).
