Senior Forest Manager · Central Scotland East – based in Perth (or Stirling) covering Fife, Angus & South Aberdeenshire area · Full Time 38.75 Hours P/W Tilhill Forestry has an exciting opportunity for you to be a key member of our Central Scotland East Area forestry team in the role of Senior Forest Manager, based in our new Perth office and covering the Fife, Angus and South Aberdeenshire area. Joining a team of five other forest managers, you will report to the Area Manager and be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of managed client properties, including significant woodland creation projects. You will be responsible for delivering a professional high-quality woodland management service to our existing clients together with other on-going forestry related opportunities, including woodland creation. The role includes sustaining sound client relationships and, day to day, the preparation of client estimates, production of reports, implementation and control of work programmes and grant applications. Several properties have only recently commenced restructure timber harvesting and this programme will continue for 10 years. Candidates should be comfortable working from their own initiative but more importantly working as part of an established Forest Management and Business Support team. The role offers a healthy balance between on-site and office-based activity and is supported by provision of corporate work wear, mobile phone/tablet/laptop and a company car. About You: As an experienced forestry professional, with a background in forestry (or other related sector), you are able to demonstrate your strong commercial acumen and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships. In addition, you’ll have: · Relevant academic qualifications. · Good knowledge of upland and lowland forestry silviculture. · Ability to work constructively with multidisciplinary teams across the wider company. · Strong commercial acumen and between 2 to 5 years’ operational experience. · Experience of supervising and managing contractors. · Good knowledge of the UK Forestry Standard and UKWAS. · Professional membership of the Institute of Chartered Foresters or another relevant professional body is desirable. · Familiarity with GIS mapping systems. · Full UK driving licence.
