Reporting directly to the Head of Major Projects, you will set and prioritise programmes of work to time, cost, quality, safety and customer service standards utilising allocated resources and ensure the effective development and performance of individuals within your team.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be accountable for:
•Management and oversight of a portfolio of power network construction projects delivered by project managers, ensuring delivery of programmes and projects to time cost and quality. The projects include EHV substations, cables and overhead lines with individual project budgets up to £30m and connections and diversions projects for customers.
•Lead interface with Service Providers and the ability to build lasting relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels, requiring first class communication and organisational skills.
•Lead delivery management for your programme portfolio including procurement and financial governance, re-authorisations and closure processes
Key Competencies
* Delivery of circa £25m annual programme budget on capital expenditure or EHV connections and diversions via a portfolio of projects, to time, cost and quality.
* Deliver connections and diversions to customer expectations within budget and without complaints while remaining compliant with Guaranteed Standards
* Accurate monthly financial forecasting and re-forecasting.
* Proficiency with using Microsoft Office applications.
* Excellent Leadership skills
Qualifications and Attributes
Essential Qualifications and Experience
•HNC in electrical engineering or equivalent
•Current UK driving licence
•Excellent leadership skills
•Knowledge and experience of programme management in a engineering environment
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
•Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
•NEBOSH or equivalent formal qualification in safety management
•Professional Institution Membership
•Project management of major construction projects, including EHV construction.
•Detailed knowledge of Engineering Standards associated with HV and EHV cables, overhead lines and plant.
•Practical understanding of cable systems, transformers and switchgears all up to 132kV
•Practical understanding of Electrical Power systems
•Detailed knowledge and experience of EHV power systems, safety procedures and engineering requirements.
