Project Manager - Waste Management Organisation: Rotherham Council Job Type: Temporary - Initial 6 Month Contract Pay Rate: Up to £28 per hour - dependant on experience Rotherham Council are seeking a Project Manager with a strong background in the waste management sector. This role is crucial for implementing changes to optimise waste collection and enhance efficiency. The successful candidate will manage a project focused on the optimisation of routes and rounds, encompassing risk management, workforce management, and implementation. Day-to-day of the role: Lead the overall project management, focusing on optimising waste management processes. Develop and manage capital, revenue, and strategic projects within frontline services. Monitor project progress from inception to completion to ensure delivery targets are met. Manage project budgets and provide accurate financial reporting. Prepare feasibility studies, business cases, and reports by researching and collating relevant intelligence and data. Manage procurement processes and support the tender process for larger commissions. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience as a Project Manager within the waste management sector. Strong understanding of Waste Management and general Council policy and procedures. Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and implement a range of projects in a similar environment. Skilled in various stages of project development including plan preparation, capital project applications, and progress monitoring.
