Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time You will need a full UK, clean driving licence The role The main objective of the role is to carry out all servicing and repair work on all SSE owned small and large Plant assets. The assets are located at both static and remote SSE locations. They are required to be maintained within agreed timescales and in-line with manufacturer recommended maintenance schedules. The role will act as the point of technical expertise and represent SSE Fleet Services. High standards of engineering maintenance skills will be required at all times, together with excellent asset record keeping and customer service skills. You will have experience in: Engineering - Manage systems and processes for multiple engineering equipment (tools, machinery, vehicles, and parts). - Apply vehicle/plant repair techniques and maintain clean, safe working areas, including lifting equipment, hand/power tools, and electrical systems (240V/110V). Administration - Complete all servicing/repair activity records accurately and on time, both paper-based and electronic, following national operational requirements. Relationship and Service - Maintain good working relationships with local plant equipment operators and managers, providing high standards of customer service. Compliance and Environmental - Ensure vehicles meet legal requirements and manage local waste with environmental responsibility, adhering to engineering hygiene practices. Safety - Maintain safety records and ensure safety checks are conducted and recorded according to current process requirements. You have - A recognised motor trade apprenticeship or other equivalent formal industry training (including time-served). - City & Guilds Vehicle Craft Studies (minimum C&G Parts 1, 2 & 3) or equivalent. - Up to date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques (including fabrication & manufacture). - Fleet operational knowledge. - Garage/Dealer background - desirable.
