We have an opportunity for a Process Engineer to join our London based client on an initial 6-month rolling contract. The Process Engineer ensures industrialisation and introduction of new high reliability products into production (submerge and terrestrial), and provides specification & tooling to ensure products can be reliably and consistently assembled and tested. THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent (industrial, production). Ability to make reliability engineering judgements under pressure. Experience in a technical and/or manufacturing environment. Experience in machine and tooling qualifications/validations. Knowledge in PUWER, LOLER, HSE regulations. Knowledge of ISO standards (safety, materials, design, etc). Knowledge CAD software (ex. CREO, Solid Works, CATIA, etc). Knowledge of quality standards. Organised, disciplined & methodical approach to problem solving. JOB DESCRIPTION Design the improvement solutions (mechanical assembly process, tools, tooling, manufacturing equipment) to be put into production with lean manufacturing approach. Create the technical documentary package for new equipment/ process solutions (mechanical assembly procedures, tools documentation, tooling drawings, manufacturing equipment procedures, etc) following company procedures and standards. Validation of the tooling, test benches (ergonomics, safety, etc), new processes, etc prior to introduction into manufacturing. SPR and PO management. Perform PUWER assessments. Define Maintenance strategy for new and old equipment. Perform FMEA. Works closely with R&D to ensure products and process are designed for ease of manufacturing. Evaluates prototype parts/assembly/equipment for new product implementation. Provide feedback to SED/R&D on various issues to aid assembly procedure and design. Defines and designs tooling and equipment required to simplify the assembly of the product. Attends products New Process and New Product Introduction (NPI) meetings and provide inputs into the minutes. Provide reports or meeting minutes. Ensures assembly procedures are approved and issued as per project plan. Writes build and process specifications for new products ensuring they can be easily understood. Ensures that tooling / equipment are procured/designed and validated/commissioned as per company standard, PUWER, LOLER, HSE regulation and ISO standard to meet development and production plans. Defines standard build times for each assembly process and maintain Reference Ops on the company system. Oversees / supervises production personnel during first off build of qualification units. Provides production support for new product start-up and day-to-day support. Provides practical application of mechanical, production, industrialisation and design knowledge to solve problems. Writes Extra Work Authorisation (EWA) for product investigations. Reviews Investigation Request (IR/ITS) and defines corrective actions to maintain production build. Investigate and define Root Causes for the defects. Implement improvements and poka-yoke solutions to eliminate defects in the future products. Conducts production processes audits on procedures to ensure all are compliant. Leads/ participates in variety of Kaizen projects to reduce waste, improve standard build times and reduce production cost. REMUNERATION PACKAGE ON OFFER Competitive hourly rate
