Brooke School, is an all-age broad-spectrum special school based in Rugby, Warwickshire.
We are an integral part of Unity MAT, which is a small, ambitious trust comprising of ourselves and 2 other similar special schools. Our collaborative working means that we have a shared understanding of the challenges and issues that our schools face and can work together to find solutions. The schools are supported by a strong Core Team who provide dedicated support services across the Trust.
We are currently awaiting a Section 5 inspection following being placed in special measures in October 2022. Since then, we have implemented a substantial support package and the Trust, staff and school community have worked incredibly hard to develop and improve our setting. Three subsequent monitoring visits have all identified significant progress, which we continue to build on as we move forward towards good and beyond.
Our Interim Head Teacher has been inspirational in driving the school forward however he will be leaving us at the end of the academic year which means that we are looking to recruit a dynamic leader to continue the momentum we have established, using the excellent work that has been done so far as a springboard to success.
What we need:
We are seeking a proven, inspirational leader with the vision, knowledge and experience to oversee the operational, educational, and strategic direction of the school. You should have a proven record in school improvement, the ability to maintain standards and the drive to continuously develop the school, all with due regard to the Ofsted framework.
You will have demonstrable experience of working with pupils with a range of complex needs, curriculum development/delivery and the current Education Inspection Framework. You will also ensure the school operates in compliance with all statutory requirements and regulations, including safeguarding and health and safety standards.
You should share our ambition for every child to achieve their full potential regardless of the complexity of their needs, in addition to having:

* a vision for the future development of the school
* the skills to lead, motivate and inspire by being a visible leader
* the ability to deliver a diverse curriculum which meets the needs of all pupils

* excellent communication skills, emotional intelligence, resilience and a positive attitude.
