Job overview
An exciting opportunity has now arisen and we are in the position to recruit a Ward Manager to be part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team working at our older adult inpatient ward based at Thurrock Community Hospital.
Meadowview inpatient facility provides care to older people, over the age of 65, suffering from mental health problems where the problems are deemed to be such that admission to hospital is the only safe option.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible to the Matron and is required to undertake duties without direct supervision. Assessment of care development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care for clients with mental health needs is an integral part of practice at all times. In line with contemporaneous practice, integration between the Ward Team, the Home Treatment Team and Community Mental Health Teams is an essential part of practice that the post holder will uphold.

Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
* RMN
* Proven experience in a band 6/ band 7 management role
* Evidence of personal and professional development in contemporary mental health practice

* Ability to set clear objectives and targets and motivate staff to achieve them
* Ability to manage 'difficult' behaviour by listening, showing tolerance and remaining objective
