This is an exciting opportunity to join an established, enthusiastic and supportive team of 10 based in Nottingham.
You will be part of Framework’s Rents Team, supporting front-line staff to maximise the organisation’s rental income. You will liaise with Local Authority Housing Benefit departments and other funders to maximise income recovery and ensure income is correctly allocated to residents’ accounts. This is not a front-line rent enforcement role, but has a direct positive impact on delivery of high-quality supported accommodation and support services to the most vulnerable in society.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Ensure Rent Accounting System is kept up to date and accurate.
* Ensure tenant and property information is accurate and up to date and income is allocated correctly.
* Ensure Rent Accounting System and Finance System balance.
* Preparing numerous reports from the rent accounting system and send to both internal and external recipients.
* Ensure Account monitoring is up to date and appropriate actions taken.
* Responding to queries and informing relevant parties of outstanding issues requiring action.
* Provide data for performance management.
* Ensure all rent overpayments are refunded in a timely manner to relevant parties.
* Liaise with new and existing service staff to ensure awareness of rent procedures, to advise and resolve rental issues and to maintain good working relationships between service staff and rents team.
The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in some or all of the following areas:
* Experience of working in a rent accounting role and / or of working with rent accounting software (Desirable)
* An understanding of housing benefit regulations (Desirable)
* Knowledge in Microsoft Office especially Excel (Essential)
* Educated to GSCE level with Grade A-C in Maths and English (Desirable)
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (Essential)
* Experience of the benefit system would be an advantage (Desirable)
* Experience of working with finance systems would be an advantage (Desirable)
