Commercial Catering Technical Trainer Location: Reading & Maidenhead with occasional travel around the UK Salary: £45,000 - £55,000, car allowance excellent benefits package MCFT have recently been approved as the unique employer-providers of apprenticeships in commercial kitchen maintenance – both catering technicians and refrigeration technicians. As our Technical Academy grows, we are ideally looking for an experienced individual in the commercial catering and gas safe field, with a proven history in technical training delivery. However, we would also welcome applications from experienced field technicians who would like to transition into a training role (training and support will be provided). Based at our practical facility in Reading as well as HQ in Maidenhead, the Commercial Catering Trainer will carry out the delivery of Catering Technical Training (electrical and gas) to the apprentices joining the business and those already on their learning journey, in line with Ofsted guidelines. This role could also require travel to carry out evaluations and audits on apprentices working on sites alongside their coaches, ensuring all learning is being reflected in their work. Reporting to our Technical Training and Development Manager, as a Commercial Catering Trainer your role will be: To develop and deliver Theory and Practical Training sessions that meet the specification requirements of Level 3 Apprenticeship Commercial Catering Equipment Technician. To support learners in their Gas Managed Learning Plan preparation for ACS Commercial Gas Assessment and Apprenticeship End Point Assessment. To conduct initial assessments and quarterly progress reviews, providing feedback to learners and line managers on academic performance. To use the online learning portal effectively and ensure learners are progressing as expected. To ensure that class registers are being completed and learner assessment and review trackers are kept up to date. To ensure lessons are sufficiently well planned and resourced, with delivery meeting Ofsted Good expectations or higher. To ensure that assessments are marked appropriately within the MCFT Marking and Assessment Guidelines To challenge poor behaviours such as lateness, absence and non-completion of work. To contribute to the growth and development of the MCFT Technical Training Academy Qualifications & Experience Electrically trained in Safe Isolation Gas Safe Registered ACS Qualifications CCCN1, COMCAT 1, 3 and 5 as a minimum. Demonstrable technical expertise and rounded industry knowledge. Good with people, excellent communicator, good written and spoken English, presentation skills Desirable: Level 3 Teaching Qualification – PTTLS or equivalent. Assessor Qualification – A1, D1 TAQA or equivalent Internal Verifier Qualifications – V1, CAVA or equivalent Proven experience in commercial catering equipment technical background Previous track record of delivering training to adult learners. PC Literate and willing to expand knowledge to use training support technology Excellent team working skills with the ability to work collaboratively and co-operatively with colleagues. Previous experience delivering apprenticeships (standards of frameworks).
