Teaching Humanities to KS3 and KS4
Leicester-based Secondary School
We are working in partnership with an Ofsted ‘Outstanding’ Secondary school in Leicester who are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher to teach History to Key Stage 3 and 4. This is a full-time and long-term role, potentially until the end of the academic year.
We are looking for somebody who has relevant experience working with 11 – 16 year olds within the last 2 years. To be successful, you will be a Qualified Teacher (ECT's welcome to apply) and have recent experience of teaching Humanities across Key Stage 3 and 4, strong behaviour management and the ability to implement schools’ behaviour policies is also essential.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and deliver engaging history lessons to students in Key Stage 3 and 4.
2. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
3. Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and projects.
4. Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum plans.
5. Stay updated with the latest developments in history education and integrate new teaching methods and resources.
6. Participate in school events, parent-teacher meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in History or a related field.
2. PGCE / QTS certificate.
3. Proven experience teaching history at KS3 and KS4 level.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. The ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans.
6. Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
