Your new role
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting NPPD projects for mobile crushing, screening, and conveying. Your responsibilities will include creating accurate electrical schematics, bills of materials, and technical documentation. You will assist in developing concepts and proposals, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet all key objectives. Providing technical support for both existing products and new product development, you will manage the introduction of new technology to ensure robust, repeatable, and stable test periods. Additionally, you will support product cost reduction and reliability improvement efforts, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and occasionally perform equipment commissioning, installation, and testing both in-company and onsite.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you will need a degree in Electrical Engineering or a related Science discipline, or equivalent qualifications. You should have technical expertise in designing 3 phase AC and 12/24V DC voltage control systems, and familiarity with electrical automation of hydraulic systems. A minimum of 5 years of experience in the heavy equipment industry is required, along with comprehensive knowledge of 3 phase AC electrical design, including Variable Frequency Drives and Soft Starts. You should be well-versed in required standards such as EN60204, UL508A/NEC/NFPA79, and have experience in designing 12/24Vdc control systems, including CAN bus and Modbus networks. Proficiency in electrical control panel design, troubleshooting machine malfunctions, and developing PLC software (ideally in CoDeSys) are essential. Knowledge of hydraulic systems is a bonus. The ideal candidate will be independent, self-motivated, possess strong project management and analytical skills, and have excellent presentation and interpersonal abilities. Travel will be required for this role.
