We currently have a vacancy in this team and are looking for a motivated and committed individual who wants to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment. This post is a career graded post and there may be opportunities to progress within the Revenues and Benefits Service area.
The Role
As a Collections Officer you will be dealing with all aspects of council tax work, which includes billing households, awarding discounts and exemptions and setting payment plans mixed with telephone support when needed.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Dealing directly with customers via letter, email and phone - providing excellent customer service at all times.
2. Updating systems and records.
3. Contributing ideas to improve ways of working.
4. Keeping your knowledge up to date via the web, publications, briefing notes, and training opportunities.
5. Process changes/new accounts through Citizens Access.
6. Carry out Land Registry searches.
7. Ensure all accounts have accurate and up to date key contact details, such as telephone contact number(s), email address, contact address and appointee details.
8. Respond directly to customers enquiries.
