Job Vacancy: Teacher / SENCo Assistant

Contract Type: 12-Week Contract Leading to Permanent Role (Urgent Start Required)
The British Creative Institute (BCI), a specialist post-16 educational institution for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), is urgently seeking a Teacher / SENCo Assistant to support the delivery of exceptional educational experiences. This role offers a 12-week contract with the potential to transition to a permanent position after a successful 6-month probation period.
Job Role:
The Teacher / SENCo Assistant will:
Support the SENCo in implementing tailored educational plans for SEND learners.
Collaborate with teaching staff to ensure the adequate differentiation of the curriculum.
Assist in monitoring student progress and maintaining accurate records.
Provide in-class support to students, adapting materials and strategies to their needs.
Facilitate communication between students, parents, and staff to ensure a cohesive support network.
Help manage and deliver small group interventions or one-to-one sessions as needed.
(Optional but advantageous) Utilize Adobe Creative Media applications to support creative curriculum delivery.
Requirements:
Essential:
Valid DBS clearance or willingness to undergo DBS checks.
At least two character references.
Experience or exposure to teaching or educational settings, particularly with SEND learners.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
A proactive and flexible attitude with a passion for supporting SEND learners.
Desirable:
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Media applications (e.g., Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator).
Experience in a creative media educational environment.
Additional Information:
Salary: Competitive, based on qualifications and experience.
Start Date: Immediate.
Contract Terms: 12-week initial contract with the opportunity for a permanent position upon completing a 6-month probation period.
