We are delighted to offer an opportunity for a BSE (or equivalent) accredited echocardiographer to join our dynamic cardiovascular research team at Kings College Hospital, London.
As an Echocardiographer based within our research department, you will be an integral part of the team of research nurses and doctors, assisting not only with your expertise in echocardiography, but also with the design, organisation and implementation of several innovative cardiovascular research projects. You will be working on projects both in the hospital and in the community, specifically a NHS England funded valve screening project in Lambeth and Southwark.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to independently perform and report diagnostic echocardiography within the hospital and community setting. You will work closely with the cardiovascular research team, which includes consultant cardiologists, clinical nurse specialists and research fellows to help design, coordinate and implement research studies.
You will play a leading role in the organisation and delivery of a community based, valvulopathy screening programme aimed at the early identification of valvular heart disease.
You will demonstrate the ability to utilise the autonomy in an efficient manner to ensure the required workload is completed (including reports) within a timely manner.
You will be supporting the department by helping to triage, co-ordinate and prioritise inpatient and outpatient lists in order of clinical priority as per BSE guidelines and local standards/protocols.

Job responsibilities

1. Independently perform diagnostic echocardiography within the hospital and community setting.

7. Ability to triage, co-ordinate and prioritise inpatient and outpatient lists in order of clinical priority as per BSE guidelines and local standards/protocols.
Person Specification
Experience
* Leadership skills and ability to work as part of a team
* Knowledge of advanced modalities such as 4D and GLS
* Previous experience of following echo research protocols
Skills
* Ability to utilise research in clinical practice, applying an evidence based practice approach
* Publications such as clinical case studies / abstracts
* Previous experience using GE E95 and Philips CVX / Affinity echo machines

£61,927 to £68,676 a year per annum inc HCAS's +15% RRP
