Role Purpose:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support our Finance team in managing daily financial operations. This key role will focus on periodic reporting, daily financial operations, banking, VAT & PSA returns, AP, AR and credit control. The ideal candidate will have 5 years plus experience working in a small business, ideally using Quickbooks Online accounting system and with good excel skills.
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Finance responsibilities:
* Responsible for accurate & timely input of invoices and journals into Quickbooks General Ledger to ensure accurate records.
* Preparation of month end P&L, Balance Sheet and Bank reconciliations to enable monthly reporting.
* Raising accounts receivable invoices and manage credit control to drive timely receipts. Manage customer set up process.
* Process and verify supplier invoices and employee expense claims, and ensure timely payments to maintain good vendor relationships. Manage supplier set up process.
* Reconciliation of payments through the Woo Commerce system, ensuring transactions are transferred to the correct entity.
* Manage intercompany process to ensure intercompanies are reconciled and paid down.
* Preparation and upload of quarterly VAT returns and application of any HMRC Withholding Tax forms required for overseas customers.
* Support the finance team to create annual budgets, including analysis of overheads.
* Responsible for managing corporate credit card and debit card and using the VPN machine.
* Responsible for completing the annual PCI compliance process.
Additional responsibilities:
* Be willing to initiate or assist with any process improvements and new system implementations.
Payroll responsibilities:
* Preparation of payroll spreadsheet to send to external payroll provider for processing.
* PSA calculation & compliance (Benefits in Kind).
What we are looking for:
* Strong Finance and Accounting skills.
* Experience in Invoicing and Financial record keeping.
* Excellent Analytical Skills for financial data analysis.
* Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Proficiency in financial software tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
