Based in Inverclyde, our shipbuilding client requires a Liaison Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.

1. Experience in AutoCAD and MS Office
2. Capable of reading drawings
3. Production experience – highly desirable
4. Drawing office / design experience – highly desirable

JOB DESCRIPTION
1. Day-to-day point of contact for production staff
2. Attend production plan of the day meetings
3. Respond to questions raised by the production team, either to directly solve the problem or to capture it in a TQ form in sufficient detail to allow another member of the engineering team to resolve it
4. Engage with planning to schedule open TQs to be worked on by the engineering team
5. Follow up on TQs raised directly by production to ensure the problem is correctly understood and the right person is engaged to solve it
6. Record TQs and maintain the TQ register, tracking TQs to closure, keeping production up to date with progress on solving problems
7. Inform the rest of the engineering team of opportunities to improve in future, support implementation of lessons learned
