Applicants are invited to apply for a full time ward clerk post on Ward 27, the elective orthopaedic ward at The James Cook Hospital University Hospital. We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic, confident person who can demonstrate excellent communication skills, have good organisational skills and the ability to work using their own initiative. We require a friendly and approachable person with a professional manner and to be able to work well under pressure. Previous telephone and computer skills are required and excellent communication and organisational skills are essential, flexibility will be required as part of the role. Working closely with the multi-disciplinary team, we are looking for someone who is a good team player. The role will involve direct contact with patients, relatives and other members of the public. The successful candidate must be able to prioritise their workload between the daily running of the ward alongside arthroplasty clinics. Reception duties are a large part of the role as well as handling public enquiries. Previous experience of working in a similar role in an NHS setting would be an advantage however full training will be given. This vacancy will close once sufficient applications have been received.
