We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated technician to join our well-established team in Technical Services as a Pharmacy Production Officer. The MHRA licenced ‘Specials’ pharmacy manufacturing unit is based at the Royal Stoke University Hospital and is a modern purpose built unit within the hospital. The service encompasses aseptic, chemotherapy, and pre-pack (over labelling and re-packaging products) supplying both the Trust and external organisations. As a department we constantly strive to re-engineer our services to improve our delivery of patient focused pharmaceutical care and customer satisfaction.
Main duties of the job
As part of our manufacturing team you will be expected to prepare products, including systemic anti-cancer therapies and intravenous nutrition. This will involve working in a controlled environment and wearing protective garments and shoes. The post holder will be expected to understand and follow standard operating procedures and have good manual dexterity. Following in-house training the post holder will undertake in-process, pre-process and final release of products.
To achieve this you will need excellent organisational, communication and computer skills with a high degree of attention to detail and you will need to be able to work effectively with the existing team.
