We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences. This is a hands-on role, requiring active involvement in food preparation and kitchen operations due to the size of our business.
As Head Chef, you will oversee all kitchen activities, ensuring our menu is executed to the highest standards while fostering a positive and collaborative team environment. You will also be responsible for meeting yearly department targets and contributing to the overall success of the business.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring efficient food production and preparation.
* Actively participate in food preparation, ensuring consistency and quality.
* Develop and design innovative menus that align with current culinary trends and customer preferences.
* Ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high hygiene standards.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety, and team management.
* Collaborate with restaurant management on special events, catering services, and seasonal promotions.
* Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage food costs to optimize profitability.
* Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and ensure all equipment is properly maintained.
* Work towards achieving yearly department targets to drive business growth.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen operations.
* Hands-on approach with the ability to actively participate in kitchen duties.
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
* Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
* Passion for creating memorable dining experiences through innovative cuisine.
* Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are a plus.
