The Job Role Details:
We are seeking a Full-Time Vineyard Operator to join this specialist Vineyard Contracting business.
What You'll Be Doing:
Vineyard Work:
* Carry out vineyard tasks using machinery and hand tools (including pruning, canopy management, and harvesting).
* Complete winter pruning and other seasonal tasks as required.
Operational Support:
* Follow instructions provided by the Vineyard Manager to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard.
* Assist with day-to-day planning and setup of machinery for vineyard operations.
* Support the management of spray programs, including maintaining accurate chemical and spray records.
Equipment Maintenance:
* Assist in servicing, maintaining, and repairing vineyard machinery in-house.
* Oversee the delivery and collection of parts and supplies from workshops or suppliers.
Health & Safety:
* Comply with Health and Safety standards at all times.
* Ensure health and safety guidelines are adhered to throughout daily operations.
Site Oversight:
* Visit customer vineyards to oversee operations and ensure tasks are carried out to a high standard.
* Address and resolve on-site issues promptly to maintain efficiency.
Record Management:
* Ensure all spray records are accurately completed and submitted to the manager in a timely manner.
Flexibility:
* Be available for weekend work as required.
* Adapt to overtime and seasonal demands during peak periods.
Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
You will have / be…
* Experience operating tractors and agricultural machinery in a similar role.
* Full UK Driving License.
* Spraying certificates - PA 1 / PA 3 / PA 6.
* Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
* A strong work ethic and the ability to perform physical tasks.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Adaptability to changing weather conditions and seasonal demands.
